Wandering into The Old House Shop is like stepping into the past while surrounded by treasures of the present. Housed in one of the town’s first buildings, the store combines nostalgia with an eclectic mix of homeware, clothing and children’s items. Owner Susie Ovenstone has a knack for sourcing quality pieces, from handmade jewellery to practical kitchen essentials. There’s nothing mass-produced here – everything is crafted with care and love by local companies and crafters. The warm and welcoming atmosphere makes it easy to linger as you browse through beautifully displayed shelves.

If clothes could tell stories, Out of the Blue’s collection would be a poetry book. This boutique has mastered natural fibers – linen, cotton and silk – perfectly suited to coastal living. The clothing pieces here are designed with versatility in mind, you can go from a sundrenched stroll to a fireside dinner with just one stylish piece from this boutique. The boutique’s clean and uncluttered layout mirrors the philosophy of its clothing – less is more. Out of the Blue is a refreshing change from fast fashion, offering a collection that blends style with simplicity, offering timeless pieces you’ll want to wear again and again.

Wonki Ware is proof that imperfection can be beautiful. This small ceramic studio in George specializes in handmade pieces that are full of character and charm. Mugs with uneven handles, plates with playful patterns and bowls in bold colours – each item feels personal and unique. The studio forms part of the experience. You can watch the artisans at work, shaping, firing and glazing their creations. It’s fascinating to see the process and it makes you appreciate the skill and care that goes into each item. We love the idea of sipping morning coffee from a mug that’s as much a piece of art as it is functional.

Diana Loon is a boutique that brings a fresh perspective to personal styling. Diana Loon, a fashion enthusiast, mother and passionate entrepreneur has transformed her love for style into a unique shopping destination in Knysna. Diana curates collections focused on quality fabrics, timeless designs and pieces that work across seasons. We love Diana’s attention to detail – from the fabrics she selects to the way each item is displayed. The boutique itself is minimalist, featuring neutral tones and clean lines, letting the clothes do the talking. This is the place to find staples you’ll wear on repeat, whether you’re exploring the Garden Route or heading back to city life.
