The Silo Hotel is a striking luxury hotel situated above the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA) at Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront. Designed by the renowned Heatherwick Studio, it occupies a refurbished grain elevator in a historic complex. Opened in 2017, the hotel is a blend of industrial heritage and modern opulence, featuring 28 uniquely styled rooms with stunning views of Table Mountain, the harbour and the city.

What are the rooms like?

Rooms at The Silo Hotel are a testament to luxury and meticulous design. Each room boasts slightly vaulted pillowed glazing panels, offering stunning views of the cityscape. The eclectic decor, however, feels slightly bewildering and lacks cohesion, despite the vibrant colours, luxurious fabrics and bespoke furnishings. The standout Royal Suite offers unparalleled views and an expansive layout, perfect for indulgence. Amenities include king-sized beds, spacious bathrooms with oversized tubs, and a well-stocked minibar featuring local treats and complimentary beverages. We felt that thoughtful touches like Charlotte Rhys toiletries and turndown service with evening snacks really elevate our stay at the hotel.
